Our Services

Chimney Sweep

Open fires, wood burning stoves and mutli-fuel stoves. Includes:

  • Carrying out a visual inspection both externally and internally prior to sweep
  • Ensuring installation conforms to current regulations (document J building regs)
  • Installation of  sheeting and protection measures to control dust and soot
  • Completion of sweep, in line with the Guild of Master Sweeps code of practice
  • Advice given on preventative measures to reduce build up of deposits in the future
  • Issue a Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps certificate, which may validate your house insurance

Each additional chimney in the same property will be £60.00

Bird Nest Removal

Includes:

  • A full standard chimney sweep worth £60.00
  • Full removal of bird nest requiring a variety of tools and adapters
  • A ‘show and tell’ whereby the use of a chimney camera is used to inspect all of the chimney and flue to show that the nest has been fully removed and the chimney is safe to use
  • Issue a Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps certificate, which may validate your house insurance

Please note that this price covers the first hour’s work and any subsequent time will be priced at £30 per 30 mins. If the nest cannot be removed from ground level, and working at height is required, an additional £100 will be charged.

Stove Appliance Service

Get your stove in tip-top shape. Service includes:

  • Full clean of components
  • Lubrication of all joints and hinges
  • Inspection of fire rope around sealing edge of glass
  • Removal and refit of new sealing fire rope (if required)
  • Glass treatments to remove stubborn marks

Post Chimney Fire Inspection & Sweep

A chimney should not be used after a chimney fire until a professional chimney sweep has said it is safe to do so. Included:

  • Early establishment of chimney and appliance integrity*
  • Outside inspection of chimney pot and stack
  • Use of firefighter knowledge to understand cause of fire and time frames
  • A visual inspection of flue, chimney, appliance and surroundings
  • Camera inspection of internal flue and chimney to assess damage and original seats of fire – this allows occupier to see for themselves any damage that has been left behind
  • Carry out a standard chimney sweep worth £65.00
  • A final camera inspection to put occupier’s mind at ease that there is no other blockages or build up of carbonaceous deposits
  • Issue a Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps certificate which may validate your house insurance

£100.00

There will be an additional £100.00 charge for working at height that may be required.

*Upon early assessment, if your chimney/appliance needs condemning, there will be a reduced fee as a sweep may not be carried out.

Cowl installations & replacements

It’s not just a chimney that needs a good clean; the cowl often provides an area for soot and other carbonaceous deposits to cling on to. Our cowl service includes:

  • Working at height to manually take off the cowl and clean thoroughly
  • Advise given to occupier on suitable cowl and/or bird guard if installation or replacement is required

£100.00

This does not include the cost of new cowl or bird guard.
All cowl installations completed at the discretion of Country Chimney Sweeps in relation to access, feasibility and health and safety.
